The Royal Enfield Coarse Angling Club held their annual 2-day competition on the Royal Canal at Longwood and Blackshade over the weekend of 7/8 June. It was a well-attended event, with 35 anglers from Ireland and the UK competing for the circa €3000 prize fund.

Judging from the photos, there were a few nice bream knocking about, and also plenty of tench, which you would expect at this time of year. Visiting angler John Easton came away with the top prize with a bag of over 22lb, well ahead of Conor Browne in second place with 16 lb+.
