Moy Catchment Angling Report 21st – 30th September 2025
Following a challenging season the final days of the season provided some good sport in some fisheries in the Moy system with a lot of fish reported as released. Water levels at Ballylahan receded this week from 1.05 m on Sunday 21st September down to 0.72 m by noon on Sunday 28th improving fishing somewhat for the final full week of the season. Weather wise the past week saw moderate to heavy rainfall especially towards the end of the week and wind gusts reaching 40-45km with daytime temperatures of 13 degrees Celsius to 17 degrees Celsius.
Ballina Salmon Anglers
Peter reports of sixty-six salmon caught of which seven were released for the final nine days of the season showing weights of 4 lbs to 7 lbs with all methods working well.
Mount Falcon Estate
Mike reports of thirty-seven salmon caught of which nineteen were released caught mostly on the fly with weights up to 8 lbs.
Knockmore Salmon Anglers
Kenneth reports of sixty-seven salmon caught of which fifty-four were released.
Attymass Angling Club
Kevin reports of sixty-six salmon caught of which fifty-nine were released all on the shrimp and prawn.
Coolcronan Fishery
Nick reports of twelve salmon caught with weights from 4 lbs to 8 lbs.
Byrnes Fishery
Roy reports of fifty-three salmon caught of which forty-four were released, caught on the prawn and spinner with a best weight of 12 lbs.
Armstrong Fishery
George reports of twelve salmon caught of which ten were released, caught mostly on the prawn with a best weight of 10 lbs.
Gannon’s Fishery
Pat reports of thirty-nine salmon caught of which fourteen were released all on the shrimp and prawn.
The Foxford Fishery
Granville reports of twelve salmon caught of which six were released, mainly spinning with the best weighing 12 lbs.
Foxford Salmon Anglers
Harry reports of seventy-two salmon caught of which fifty were released.
East Mayo Anglers Association
Kathleen reports of thirty-one salmon caught of which twenty-one were released using all methods with the best weighing 13lbs.
