Reports of a general improvement in fishing across both lakes with wet and dry flies working such as Green Peter, Brown Sedge, Connemara Black, Bibio and Sooty Olive. Salmon are also beginning to show in Lough Conn.
On Sunday 8th June, Foxford Angling Club held the recently postponed Devaney Cup Competition. Nine boats carrying eighteen anglers set out for the day. They had a return of ten trout over the thirteen-inch competition limit, with all anglers catching and returning good numbers in the ten to twelve-inch bracket, with both dry and wet fly working for them.

The winner was Michael Tiernan with two trout for 3 lbs.
2nd place – Martin Kenny with two trout for 2.5 lbs.
3rd place – John O’Connell with two trout for 2.2 lbs.
4th place – Shane Mc Ginty.
5th place – Peter Roche.
