Budding young angler Jim Hayes was in touch with us to tell us about a smashing fish he caught in the Royal Canal recently. Jim was fishing in the Hill of Down area when he hooked a hard fighting fish that battled all the way to the net.
It turned out to be a beautiful, red-finned hybrid that was over 32cm long and probably close to the specimen weight.
Hopefully the first of many good fish for Jim!
