Angling Guide and journalist Mick Flanagan reports:
The night time fishing is hit and miss these night as the temperature can drop quite fast, and some nights there are little or no Sedge hatches. Saying this the Ennell anglers were out in force last Friday night for the Jimmy Nea Cup, and you needed a trout over 3lbs to get into the winning enclosure. Top Rod was John Brennan with a super trout of 3.780lbs, Tom McEvoy finished 2nd with 3.742lbs, and Philip Smith was 3rd with another cracking Ennell trout weighing 3.542.Over 40 anglers competed on the night, and John Tyrrell Competition captain thanked all who supported the competition. Brendan Murray presented the prizes, and announced the next trout competition on Ennell will be the Lough Ennell Perpetual Cup sponsored by Con Hope. This will take place on Sunday August 30th and will be fished from 11am-7pm.More on this in the coming weeks.
