An early morning pollack to Colin Erscott.

Paul Harris reports that as Autumn starts to slip slowly into winter the fishing carries on apace on the Beara with winter visitors starting to make more of an impact.

Our two regular visitors from Belgium, Bart & Davy, found all their usual species including thornback rays, huss, conger, pollack etc but this year added coalfish and cod to their shore caught list. Colin Erscott and his group from Dorset and Somerset were on a later than usual visit to the Beara and the challenge this year was a species hunt. A total of 20 species were caught for the week including bass, pollack, coalies, huss, conger and even an out of season sea trout. Winner was Mark with 12 species.

Over from Wexford came Ashley Hayden who with fishing partner Dave took specimen size dabs as well as big flounders, bass, pollack and huss. For a report on his trip check out http://bit.ly/ujMpy2

Plenty of bass and cod about at the moment and the best of this fishing is yet to come so good prospects for the next few weeks.
