We had the first of a series of 8 of our winter league matches today, on the Boyle Canal.
The draw took place in a chilly but bright car park with evidence of the first proper frost this year. The skies and water were clear and the sun actually made an appearance.
Fishing was anticipated to be tough….. we were right !
The 20 angler were split into 4 sections of 5, A,B,C,D
Section Winners.
- (A) – Patrick Smullen – 0.260g ( 10 fish)
- (B) – Leigh Maitland – 1.280kg (56 fish)
- (C) – Shane Dunne – 0.780kg (57 fish)
- (D) – Rory Dunne – 1.600kg (74 fish)
From the catch weights you can see it was hard fishing, but it was nice to see so many match anglers fishing a league match and also keeping dry 🙂
