The first day this year we got a weather window we decided to head up north of Rathlin Island 27 km from Red Bay. We got onto a deep water structure looking for specimens and skate.

The skate didn’t show up but plenty of conger, bullhuss and specimen spurdogs were taken. The mackerel have left the building but there are plenty of small herring and of course the coalfish are abundant.
