Fort William reports that they have a busy couple of days on the river. On Monday this week Eddie O’ Connell had a lovely fish of 6lbs, safely returned. They had a great day on Tuesday when a 12lbs of silver took Chris Coady and was released after. There was another lovely double figure fish of approximately 14lbs for Chris Burt from New Zealand on fly. Both off the castle beat. And then there was first on fly for Sean Power estimated at 10lbs off the Ellis Beat plus a couple more hooked and lost.
The Blackwater Salmon Fishery great day on the river yesterday. Scott Brown, who had bought an Atlantic Salmon Trust Lot donated by Glenda Powell for their fund raising auction, was over to make the most of his purchase. He certainly did that with a fine big salmon. There were two other fish lost and a lot more activity than in previous days with fish showing themselves.
Guy Marnier from France had two lovely salmon with Ballyduff Bridge Fishery on Monday 10th June. He caught both of his fish at Ballincurrig on the upper river on the fly. They weighed around 10lb and 7lb. There was also another nice fish lost at the net at the Bridge beat on the lower river. Fishing was quiet on Tuesday after the rain but there are a more fish moving compared to previous days. Yesterday they had 3 fish landed and 2 lost. There was nice grilse of 4lbs on the fly for David Coughlan this morning at the bridge beat and 2 fish for our French visitor Guy Marnier at Ballygarrett also on the fly, 7lbs and 3lbs respectively.
Right now the river is in great order and clearing nicely. There is more heavy rain forecast for Friday and this should freshen things up again and get more fish moving throughout the system.

Blackwater Salmon Fishery
Blackwater Salmon Fishery has 3 beats downstream of the weir and 2 upstream of the weir. Blackwater Salmon Fishery offers fishing on approximately 5 miles of the river Blackwater. The fishing is spread throughout the middle section of the river to offer good sport throughout the fishing season. Due to the location of the beats, fishing can still usually be offered in low or high water.

Ballyduff Bridge Salmon Fishery
Ballyduff Bridge fisheries control a number of beats of the Munster Blackwater. The Ballyduff Bridge beat is almost a mile long offering a huge variety of water and is particularly suited to fly fishing. Upstream near the village of Ballyhooley (a few miles outside the town of Fermoy, Cork) we have two beats. The Ballincurrig Beat is one of the most beautiful locations along the river and has an excellent piece of fly water flowing into a deep pool. Just downstream on the opposite bank we have a short but productive beat, called Magners. This beat fishes also well in high water.
