Some of the Killybegs Mariners have been wrapping up well and taking to the beaches this week to target flatties as the temperatures dropped. Flounder, turbot and coalies were the main species encountered, the best of them a super 44cm flounder caught by Cara Boyle – the longest flounder of the year for a club member.
As the saying goes, ‘There’s no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing’, and this week the Mariners proved that; we’ll keep an eye on how they get on fishing the Donegal beaches over the Christmas period.
