Eleven anglers had a great days fishing at the fifth leg of the Leinster Open, with lots of skimmers, roach and a few small perch making up the weights at the chosen venue of Annaghierin Lough in Cavan.
It was an opportunity for old friends to meet and catch up and old rivalries to be reignited, with Donal McGuirk beating all of his rivals to top the pile.

The Leinster Coarse Anglers have also announced that they are trying to organise a juniors competition which will be run on an annual basis – this will include the age categories of Under 12, Under 15 and Under 18.
This is the idea of club members Dean Murray and Anthony Kelly. Fishing will be on the Grand Canal at Daingean so the club are asking for support to make the event a success.
