Foxford Angling Club held a competition for the “Mike Tiernan Memorial Cup” on Sunday 18th August. It was reported that fish were rising freely to both wet and dry flies. 22 anglers weighed in 10 trout over 13 inches with many more under this being released. Most anglers reported that the early part of the day produced the best results. The competition was won by Michael Tiernan of Foxford with a beautiful trout of 5.2 lbs. Joe Ferguson from Knockmore was in second place with 3 trout and third place went to John O’Connell of Pontoon.
