The Dublin Trout Anglers fished their annual Ryder Cup competition at Bohernabreena Reservoirs in the foothills of the Dublin Mountains at the weekend. Nine anglers turned out, and angling conditions were pretty good, despite a breezy southerly wind making casting difficult in some places. Five anglers returned fish, and the best of those was a nice 1.5lb+ fish caught by Cathal McDonnell.

There were a few wild brownies landed, which is always encouraging to see, and one angler, Fran Nugent, managed three wildies. But Cathal’s one fish was enough to give him the edge on the day and he remains top of the leaderboard heading into their final outing of the season, on Lough Owel at the end of the month.
