Martin Ring in our Macroom office reports that water levesl in the the Killarney area were medium height last week. There were a few salmon reported caught from the local lakes and rivers.
On Upper Lake, Killarney, one salmon of about 12 lbs was caught trolling. There was another salmon caught on Lough Lein, a 7 lbs fish also trolling.
On the Laune River there was 1 salmon caught on Beat 3. This was an 8 lbs fish caught spinning. Another fish was caught at Johnsons, it weighed 7 lbs and was also caught spinning.
The week before there were several grilse reported from the Flesk and a couple more from Lough Lein. Amongst the salmon and grilse caught on the Laune were a 10lb fish from Johnsons and a 15lb springer from Pol na Halla. Both were caught spinning.
