In order to promote the this year’s Fisheries Awareness Week schedule of events in the Drogheda area, members of the Drogheda and District Anglers, Drogheda Coarse Anglers and Inland Fisheries Ireland kicked off with the first of two information days today Saturday 27th in Scotch Hall, Shopping Centre, Drogheda. The promotional stand was staffed from 9am to 6pm and lots of people came along to see the fish display tanks and learn more about how to get involved in angling. Many youngsters enjoyed the kids area and there are a number of prizes sponsored by Boyne Angling Centre in Drogheda and East Coast Angling in Navan on offer over the two days. Members of the Drogheda and District Anglers Club and Drogheda Coarse Angling Club described the types of fishing available locally and outlined and explained the comprehensive schedule of events that are taking place for game, coarse, pike and sea angling during Fisheries Awareness Week . We will be in Scotch Hall Shopping Centre again tomorow Sunday 28th April from 12 noon to 6pm so come along and find out more about fishing and then “give angling a go”!
We looking forward to seeing you at the second of our information days in Scotch Hall tomorrow. Additional Information on Fisheries Awareness Week can be found at www.faw.ie
