The last Tralee Bay SAC competition of the summer took place on the 30th August 2015…
20 anglers took part in our last summer comp of the year. Hoping for a bit of surf, we arrived to flat calm waters, which meant we would be fishing for flatties.
The competition started at 12 pm, and not to be deterred by the serenity of the water, some anglers still took a chance on catching a bass, but alas not one bass to be found during the entire comp.
Overall 102 fish were caught, turbot, brill and flounder – no round fish. It was an interesting competition to say the least with participants either catching very low or good numbers of fish.
It was nice to have a couple of visitors join us for the comp, Mike Curtin from Galway and Ian Misselbrook from the UK .
The results are as follows
Senior :
- 1st- Eugene Farrelly – 265 points
- 2nd- Connie O sullivan – 221 points
- 3rd – Mike Curtain- 212 points
Junior:
- Christopher O Sullivan – 166 points
- Eoin Foley – 66 points
- Craig Corbett- 54 points
The best flat fish was David O Sullivans with a 28 cm flounder.
No round fish caught.
Well done to all who took part and see you at the next comp: 27th September Cappaclough 12- 4 pm.
