Well known Angling guide Mark O’Regan from Trim was out with Professor Ken Whelan last Tuesday fishing on Lough Ree in preparation for the Lough Ree Pike Festival which they both fished on the following three days. On their day of exploration, Mark hooked and landed a great fish of 115 cms on a lure which Ken photographed and Mark put back straight away. Sadly they did not manage to catch one as big during the the three day’s of competition as this fish would have won the competition for Mark!
